We use gold plated or gold-filled stainless steel because it is durable, corrosive resistant and eco-friendly.
We also use gold plated or filled .925 sterling silver.
Gold plated jewelry, regardless of the base metal, will turn naturally over time but you can prolong the life of your pieces by following our care recommendations.
Although our jewelry is water-resistant, we recommend you remove your jewelry while showing, swimming and exercising. Please avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, skin and/or hair products as they contain chemicals and oils that can decrease the longevity of your pieces.
Do not use harsh chemicals like bleach, oils, facial acids, etc. and/or jewelry cleaners not expressly made for gold plated stainless steel or sterling silver.
We recommend storing your Rachel Gray Jewelry pieces in a cool dry place like a jewelry box or in jewelry pouches. Storing either of these ways helps to avoid scratching, tarnishing and unnecessary wear. When traveling, we recommend you use a travel jewelry case that securely closes.
If you want to take your jewelry care to the next level, we recommend storing each piece individually in air-tight containers or bags.
For best cleaning results we recommend using warm water and detergent-free soap. You can dry and polish with a jewelry cloth to avoid scratching.
Every person's skin is unique and each person's skin and hair oils react differently to certain metals and plating. Some people have allergic reactions to the electroplating process. If allergic reaction occurs, please remove immediately and clean your skin with warm water and detergent-free soap.
In addition, some people's skin oils react differently to different metals and may cause your pieces to wear more quickly.
If you do experience an allergic reaction you may want to consider choosing gold-filled, gold, platinum or silver jewelry.
We are not responsible for your skin's reaction to our products.
